This part-time position which offers competitive compensation! The Hygienist we hire is required to have an active Hygiene license for the state of Virginia, x-ray license, and Local Anesthesia is preferred (but not required). At SmileOn Dentistry we have been working diligently to ensure all our patients and staff feel safe and protected while in our office. We have all the proper PPE for the staff. Our office hours are Monday’s & Wednesday (8 am to 5 pm), Tues. & Thursday (11 am to 7 pm) and Friday’s (7 am to 1 pm). Responsibilities: Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination Sterilize dental instruments properly Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures Take X-rays or dental impressions Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer) Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Qualifications: Desired Skills: Active Hygiene license X-ray license, required Local Anesthesia, preferred |
