Notes We are a long-standing private dental office with a focused team of professionals who are in need of an experienced Dental Assistant. Our staff is very proud of our team-centered approach to running a family-based practice and it shows in all we do. Our ideal candidate is someone who will want to stay with us long-term, but also wants to help ensure that our patients want to stay with us as well.

Benefits:
This is a full-time employed position that offers health, vision, and dental insurance, as well as paid vacation time. Compensation is based on experience.

Preferred Qualification:
• 1 Year dental assisting experience
• Familiarity with Open Dental
• Dental assistant terminology and procedure proficiency

Essential Functions:
• Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Inquiring about the patient's medical history, taking blood pressure, and pulse
• Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
• Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
• Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
• Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
• Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies)
• Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery.
• Follow properly issued instructions/directions regarding patient flow and manage the flow of patients for efficient scheduling.
Required Licensure:
• CPR Certification
• X-Ray Certification
• Nitrous Monitoring
