| Notes | Job description We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. We are an established (25 Years) state of the art private practice located in Steamboat Springs. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond to develop positive relationships with our clients and deliver outstanding care. You will help dentists decide treatment needs for our clients As a Dental hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. If you have a steady hand and great bedside manner, we’d like to meet you. Responsibilities • Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible • Conduct initial oral health screenings and check oral health history • Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis • Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) • Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) • Take X-rays • Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer) • Maintain documentation and charts on each patient • Monitor supplies • Willing to cross train for assisting and front desk responsibilities Skills • Proven experience as Dental Hygienist • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA) • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment • Outstanding communication skills • A patient and friendly personality • Attention to detail • Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job • Diploma in Dental Hygiene • Valid license to practice in Colorado Benefits: • Waiting period may apply • Flexible hours/ Days • 1 Hour minimum appointment times • Happy with a temp to start, ideally someone that can become a f/t, p/t hygienist with us. • Dental • 401k This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is: • Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous • People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects • Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction Job Type: Part-time Salary: $40.00 - $62.00 per hour |
